Scripture Memory/Bible/Character

"You mustn't be afraid," I said to my four sons....who clung to me trembling. "God will save us for nothing is impossible to Him."

He is the God who does the impossible. Study the story of Him calming the storm. Tell story of "It is Well." Learn and study the song, and history.

"My wife, Elizabeth, wiped away her tears and reassured our sons that we would survive this crisis. I admired her courage, but my heart was heavy as I led my family in prayer."

Waiting, evaluating the circumstance in a crisis. Sailors and crew panicked and abandoned the family.

"Elizabeth and I, fearing that each strange sound might spell disaster, kept a prayerful watch throughout the long night."

"Elizabeth and I gathered our family around us and thanked God for a peaceful landing. Our hearts were full of joy."

***even though the crew had abandoned them...they still continued to try to find them..**

Bouyancy -

Surviving/being practical - making life jackets with wooden butter tubs... making boats out of 8 tubs.

(make a boat out of playdoh and see how many pennies it will hold. Father had to use enough tubs to carry people..if he didn't use enough it wouldn't carry everyone/anyone...do sink/float....science experiment about boyancy....give the kids some aluminum foil and a tub of water...if you crumple it in a ball it sinks, but if you form it into a boat shape, it floats because of bouyancy. )

*****kudos to my friend emily who gave the idea for bouyancy********
